His Creation

In one of my classes called "People and the Environment", basically, we will focus on the human impact on the earth (climate change, green house gas, global warlming etc.). Usually, I could only concentrate in class for 1 and a half hour...then the last 30 mins, I'd just sit there. The class is kind of boring. However, last time, we studied about development, economy, and environment. Well, amzingly, I followed what the lecturer was talking about because I stayed up till 4 a.m. to read the documents he emailed us on the weekend. :) Then we watched the vdo about environmental catastrophe. It made me sad to look at what people had done to other people, and what human had done to the Lord's creation. I saw people with brain damage because of irresponsible companies launched chemicals and trash into the river then people ate fish from that river...whale hunting...thousands of sea bird died painfully because of the oil from the wrecked ship containing a lot of oil. I saw how people solved the problem by dropping bomps into the ship to burn the oil, they thought it wouldn't go to the shore. Then what happened was the black smoke polluted the air and the oil still came on the beach. Several inhabitants were destroyed.

Anyway, sorry, you might get bored of what I wrote above but I just want to share how I felt after class. yeah, imagine how God meticulously created this world each day and created Adam and Eve, but look at how harmful human had done/have been doing to His beautiful creation. I don't know...we always think we are smart but actually we are not. yes, we can produce many useful things but our development brings impacts to the environment on this earth. That's why people in the Bible had lived longer than us because they didn't have environmental issues. Later on, another thought came in, life on this earth is so short, how should I live my life now? I think the problems will never be totally solved. There will be more coming for sure...more organizations, more conflicts, more wars...The time is coming close, I will just enjoy what I can see everyday and know that God is very artistic!

Dear Unnie, I just came to visit you in your new place! It's nice... I like Eddie's bird, and Unnie with the onion ring eyes. That's what those are, isn't it? And that's my favorite James Taylor song of all time. And if there is ever anyone who can understand about your heart being in Thailand, it's me! :)

I agree that we are responsible to take care of the Earth, to be stewards of God's creation. But WE are God's creation too, and I don't agree with some people who say that humans are like a virus on the Earth. They say we don't belong here and that humans should be removed so the planet can be saved. God did not make a mistake when He put humans on the Earth: He said "it is very good". We must make wise choices and be good stewards of the blessings given to us, but people don't need to die for the planet.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

it's not a boring text, unnie. You know I studied on political science and people always ask me how I could solve all social problems (some asked if I could be a governor or a prime minister..Hahaha!!!) People hope there'll be the hero riding a white horse to fix all mistakes they did but they're wrong. All they can do is to concern their self-responsibility.
Some say good speech but do nothing. Get's start from yourself, it can solve all problems-environment,crimes,economic,..etc. It takes time but better than ignoring and watching them.
