Well, I'm fine with that comment though ;p

When encouraging someone who's just broken up, I'm not a person who'd lie to comfort that person. The more realistic they can see, the faster they can move on. (Maybe this is the line when they point back at me and say 'It's not your turn yet!' or 'Have you ever been in a real long relationship?') The next second I just have to shut my mouth. Hahaha!

Valentine's Day is the day that makes those who are still single and available tremble, either with insecurity coz they have no one to go out with or excitement to meet new people. Some are desperate in finding love. Well, I've also been asked 'How do you enjoy life when you have no one?' I'm sure a lot of you think the same as I do: 'We all have someone: family and friends.' It's just not enough for some people. Having an intimate relationship with someone other than family and friends is a great blessing. That is true but it is also true that enjoying life without an intimate relationship is a rare gift.

People have love for God, orphans, and those who are in need, and I think that's wonderful. Alright, back to the topic 'I love...', I'd say I LOVE doing things alone though it could be fun to do with other people: eating something delicious, watching movies, having coffee while digesting some thoughts, or relaxing in a quiet place. I love seeing someone is working behind the scene for others. I love seeing old couples who take care of each other and just wish my love will be like that if I ever have one. I love seeing that someone's having a good time by themselves.

I'm NOT saying that we should give up on finding true love and embrace the single life. I'm just saying love is all around and love will find you.

For me, this post aims to comfort those who are single. For others, it might be just another pathetic, self-comfort note. So, am I romantic enough?

Summer and last semester!!!

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297063292027885762" style="DISPLAY: block; I blame facebook and hi5 then ;p I posted most of my pix on facebook and put some posts in Thai on hi5. There are times that I think to myself 'Should I keep this blog?' On one side, I like to write stuff here and share with people once in a while. On the other hand, things get too complicated and I can't explain in words and get lazy to write it out. So wheteher this is the last post or not, I want you to know that I appreciate your time for reading my wandering mind here and hopefully, we still keep in touch one way or another (email, hi5, facebook etc.) :)

After August 2008, i had a really tough semester so it's another excuse to not write anything here. Then I had a wonderful time in December coz it was my holiday. I watched movies all day all night and travelled to some places in NZ. I went to Coromandel (Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove where they shot Narnia: Prince Caspian), Waitomo Cave (for blak water rafting and glow worms), Tauranga ( as usual, to visit some Thai friends), then 5 days in the South Island (Christchurch, Denedin, Queenstown, Wanaka). The road trip in the south was amazing!

I came back to Palmerston North before New Year so I went to the city centre with another friend. We walked around town, had dinner, watched a movie and joined the celebration in the middle of the town. They lit some fireworks where they set up a concert stage. It was ok better than being lonely on campus.

Now, I'm back to school :( It's gonna be my last semester then i'll go back to my lovely home country :) The weather is nice, rarely rains. Sometimes it's hot and sometimes it's chilling. One thing I like about NZ is that I don't get bitten by mosquitoes here (or maybe once). Unfortunately, now it's summer, and bugs are flying around...arghh!!

Still alive

Sky Tower

Minus 5 pub

Inside the Sky Tower

Hi all,

Whoa! the last one was about my new semester. Well, I didn't get to write at all during last semester because my schedule was so tight. Now, it's another new semester here...i only go to class on Thursday (2 classes). I don't know if that's good or bad. not going to class makes me feel lazier. A couple weeks ago, my friends and I drove up to Auckland. It was quite fun for our girls trip. We went to Minus 5 (pub made of ice) and, of caouse, ate a lot!! Unfortunately, we were fined for speeding on the way back. :(

Weather: still in winter and it's all cold and wet...i can stand the coldness but i can't stand the wind, the rain and the earthworms. There are too many in front of my hostel...disgusting coz they are so looonggg and huge.

Food: i cook a lot now. u wouldn't believe it but yes i can cook a lot of Thai food. not original taste but many people like it. :) so gain weight by my own food better than eating greesy unhealthy food from dining hall.

Fire Alarm: In our hostel, we all have a fire alarm in our individual rooms. It is for a safety reason, i know that...yet, we've never practiced the fire evacuation. We had a few false alarms. It was funny because many people were still sleeping then we had to leave to stand outside the hall in our pjs and sleepy look. Everybody was like "oh, false alarm again!! man..." Last week, one of the girls, tried to remove the fire alarm in her room (weird huh). Then the alarm rang so loud and i was sleeping on the bunked bed and it was like right into my ears. I tried to ignore it coz I thought it was a false alarm again so i asked my friends if there was smoke. Anyway, everyone was walking out, so I went out too. We had a fire engine came up. That means 1 truck, you pay NZ $ 1,000. All the girls were still in their pjs and looked sleepy as usual coz not many people like to get up early, only a few Japanese. After they checked that there was no smoke, we all went back to bed. The machanics and firemen said 'morning, ladies'...we replied, 'g'night.'

Spiritual Life:

My friends and I have our praise time called "IPC CF (International Pacific College Christian Fellowship)". The first semester i came here, we started this fellowship once with just 4 of us (3 Indonesians and me). We sang and prayed together for a few times then we were kinda stopped. I don't want to say an excuse that 3 of us who are doing Postgraduate Diploma or Masters were really caught up with assignments all the time. During the 3 weeks break, we started to go back to chuch again. Our church is called "Christ Sanctuary Church". I like the family here so much...it's small, warm, family-like.

IPC CF, we now have 8 members. 7 are Indonesians and me who is the only Thai. I play guitar. One of them helps choose songs. 1 of them is actually a Catholic but she said she loves to praise with us. We are from different (church) backgrounds, so I'm asking for your prayers that Satan wouldn't use the differences in perspectives as a tool to create conflicts among ourselves. All I want is to worship the Lord with people who love God and do not judge other Christians. Also,we are praying that God will guide us to see our goals for our fellowship. we don't know which way we are going. We need guidiance. If we want to invite non-Christians, we need to really organize this fellowship. Another thing is that one of the 'on-fire' person is graduating in December, so I'm hoping that we can figure it out how the group will handle changes. As for myself, I'm hoping to go back to Thailand by the end of March. That means they have to figure it out to do for the worship time. I actually want the one who is graduating in Dec. to help connect the group with the community here. She does a lot of activities with the school, so maybe we could really make the fellowship become more like other offical clubs. At the moment, we use her room because she's a hall leader so she has a bigger room than ours. We might need to find another place, adjust to a new way of worship and patterns of each setion. Anyway, I'm thankful for our group and the great amazing time we just had together on last Wednesday night.

Shalom to all,

Back to school

I've been back in NZ for about 3 weeks now. On the way back to Palmerston North where my school is, we stopped in Rotorua and Taupo. The towns are on the way here, so Eddie, me and another friend stopped there and went to some cool places. We play what they call "The Luge" and "skyswing" at the place called "Skyline Sky rides". It was a good day because the weather was so nice. We bought a combo ticket for 1 gondola and 5 rides of the luge plus 1 skyswing. The luge has 3 tracks starts from scenic track, intermediate track and advanced track. Of course! I did them all and I did the advanced one twice. Actually, if u buy a small combo set, it's enough. You'd get 2 rides of the luge though the rest is the same. I did 5 rides, so it turned out kinda boring. Then we stopped to look at the gorgeous Huka Fall in Taupo and then here I am back to school in Palmy. (See the road trip pictures on facebook-album 'CM-NZ').

First week of school was quite crazy for me. not that I have many classes, but I had to contact many people for general stuff like room check-in, putting my luggage in the luggage room, too many pillows and blanket on my bed, my new student ID...etc. I went to class just once coz the lecturers were not ready. Then why did they start on April 14!!!? I should have extended my ticket more and stayed for Songkran festival in Chiang Mai :(

Anyway, at the moment it's week 2 here. I handed in my assignment on time after I had forgotten about it during the 4 months break. This semester is gonna be a lot more challenging for me because some of the lecturers have been replaced. So, the styles of teaching are different. I have 4 lecturers...1 is a young Japanese female( i had her last semester as well)...2 old, kiwis, male, monotone and soft voice and another one is old, British, anti-American. I just had class with this last one yesterday and he made my friends and I speak "proper English". He asked "what do u call those in between sentences?" I said "Transition words", he said "right, but that's what Americans say...We English say "Linking words"!!?? Another time, the word 'management' which he asked each of us to say it. So, usually...i shouldn't have any problems saying that word as 'mae-nage-ment' but he said "no no u say 'ma-nij-ment' -_-" sigh.........

However, i think it's gonna be such an interesting term for me here. I'm willing to pick up a bit of each accent :) Coming back here this time is not as hard as the first time because I have friends now. Alright, just wanna drop a note about the first weeks here before I get too 'bi-zee' again.

Beginning April

In front of Annie's house
We are proud to be born in the land of smile!
They cooked for me, of course! and their house is very nice.

I'm now back to NZ on April 6. My flight ws long and tiring so i didn't even care to take a good shot of sunrise in Sydney. I've been staying with Annie in Tauranga for a couple days already and I will be heading down to Palmerston North on the 11th because my school starts on Monday 14. aww....I miss Songkran in Chiamg Mai, will be there next year! Anyway, I just found out that I have homework to hand in on April18!!! Dang it!! how did i forget about this!? I texted my friends in school, they also forgot about it..-_-'

Let's not think about it now, I want to finish this update before things get crazy again. Well, I went to sit in a class at South Pacific Bible College taught by David Nelson. It was quite hard to follow but it seemed interesting to me. It was good to see Annie, Eddie, Joshua and P'Neung, the guy from Soi4. They and their friends in Tauranga make me feel comfortable because they are the family in Christ.

Flashback of March

Ron's making Gahn a tattoo!
Amp & I at Starbucks
P'Pui & I at the airport
My farewell at cell group; Wah was in charge of "One Another Time", she told everyone to put make up on me because that'd make me look older and people wouldn't think I'm under 18. I wanted to update the blog at least once a month but things got crazy and time has gone by so fast (ตดยังไม่ทันหายเหม็นเลย 555).

Nothing much going on in the beginning of the month. I tried to stay home as much as I could because I knew I would be gone for 10 days for Cambodia trip. I guess Cambodia was probably the highlight of the month, so I suggest you to go see http://www.payapchristianzone.com/ for more picture and information. The reason is because I'm the one who gathered pictures from my camera and from other people like P'Pui, Gahn, Julie, and Titan. I also write the description for events, so it takes a lot of thinking and energy for me to write in English. Hope you don't mind to go see good pictures and read some good stories. :)

Other than the things I've written on the Payap website. I'd like to share something. Here, there's a picture of me and another boy in the black t-shirt. A friend of mine gave me that t-shirt but the day i met this boy...he was wearing a sweater. Gahn and I asked him if he feels hot and why didn't he wear a t-shirt. He said he didn't have one. He would probably grab that sweater from where people donate stuff or maybe from his siblings. So, I took him to the guest house I was staying and gave him the shirt. He is a quiet, shy but seems mature than his age to me. While Gahn, Ron (his name), and I were walking back to the place we had activities for the kids, he stopped walking and softly said "thank you". I knew that it could have been hard for him to say it out loud for whatever reason. Then we asked him if we could record his voice because we wanted to learn a bit of Khmer language. So, me and Gahn would say things in English and he would say it in Khmer. We showed him the handbook we got for the camp. It contains simple Khmer in phonetics but we were not sure how to pronounce, that is why we recorded his voice. So, we asked him to read the Khmer hoping that we'd the right pronunciation...he looked at us and said "I can't read." I was stunned...not feeling amazed but feeling so stupid. How did I not know that he doesn't go to school or he might but studies in Khmer not learning any written stuff in English. So, we stopped and we took him to play games with other kids.

That was one of the things that has been stuck in my mind for the rest of the month till now. I shared with the Payap group during the "home group sharing time" while we were in Cambodia that Cambodia was not in my plan...I didn't have money to come...but God has taken care of this problem. I told the group that the next problem was I had been so dried since I was in NZ, so I felt like I didn't have anything to pour out to other people, especially these street kids but God has been faithful to me. I didn't have to try hard to go to the kids, they came to me, hugged me and played with me. Moreover, I've witnessed the love i received from brothers and sisters from other countries, so I'd count that those are the ones to pour out their "cups of cold water" for me.

I've been blessed by joining this "Angkor of Faith2" camp.

I got back to Thailand and I realized that I should be more thankful for what I have here in the beautiful country...the easy life style, smiles from strangers, the hot weather (not too bad), good food, easy transportation...etc. I spent a bit more time with my family and friends. I went to get massage, eat some more good food, to Chiang Rai...just to hang out with Ae, one of my bffs, oh...oil massage...weird but i guess i'd do it again! ;p

I had a great time at the farewell at cell group, girls night out and photo night out on the bridge. My last night in CM...I packed and went to bed at 3 a.m. and woke up at 5 a.m. My parents picked me up at the zone and went to the airport. My flight was the first flight from CM-BKK...I didn't want people to wake up early and send me off but they came anyway. It was a very short good-bye because I heard the announcement about changing the gate or something, so I said bye to the aggies, P'Ying, P'Julie and my parents. I was sitting there waiting and then P'Pui called and told me to go back out to say good bye to her. So, i went and took a picture with her. It was funny because she came late but I got to take a picture with her and I didn't get to take one with my parents and those who came earlier. I arrived BKK at 8 a.m. and walked around, sat, went on the internet...for a couple hours...then Amp came to have lunch with me. I had a great time talking and we played nintendo games on my laptop inside Starbucks!! ha ha ha! My plane left BKK-SYD at 6 p.m. I thanked Amp for coming all the way from her place to the airport..just to be with me. I've been home for about 3 months now since December. At the end of January, Eddie went back to NZ and the interns (Mit, Adelina and Han) from Malaysia and Singapore also went back to their countries. The first weekend of Feb. we had Women's Retreat up in the mountain. The third (Feb.16) weekend we had our Valentine's Party with the theme 'Cupid goes see the movies'. Last week of Feb., we went to Buatong Waterfall. As I always ask you to do "see more pictures and details" on

www.payapchristianzone.com.

Basically, my life here is all about spending time with my family in Christ. I only spend a few nights with my biological family in my hometown and I come to Cell Group on Thursday and stay here till Sunday after church or even Monday. So, some people may think like I don't have a really good balance here. I do feel that way sometimes. Thinking about i still financially depend on my biological family, and of course they love me...I should spend the most of my time with them. hmm...i don't know how to describe my feelings now. I want them to accept Jesus as their Savior, so they might be able to understand reasons I choose to do or not to do things.

My spiritual life has been a lot better than when I was in NZ by myself. I'm a part of this family. However, I've learned so many things about relationships between brothers and sisters in Christ and also relationship between me and God our Father. "Relationship" helps us know that we are not alone...we have supports and that means we are loved. It is meaningful, powerful...yet fragile. What do we do when you get hurt? I've experienced the answer from my personal conversation between me and God. Forgiving is the key to heal the deep cut. The Lord knows the pain we have inside of our hearts and He will pour out His amazing love to fill in the hole. Not only I've learned things through my own experiences, but through others' as well.

hmm...nothing to say much here. I really like hanging out with this girl, Julie, an apprentice from Texas A&M. She laughs a lot...i mean seriously a lot. She's sincere, fun, energetic and outgoing. I can temporarily leave things that I don't wanna think about while i'm around her. So, all I wanna say here is that it's a blessing for me to get to be friends with Julie. When I look at her, i think of the verse from Philippians4: 4 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"

Events in Januaray

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5160425942733564322" style="DISPLAY: block; They all are musically talented and it's a blessing for us to have them around when we have parties. One of the members is studying the Bible. This group of guys is very funny...I have hope for all of them to come and know God.

Cheung Doi Church of Christ is now relocated to P'David's old house. We helped them move all the stuff.

Well, the pix are kinda mess up a bit. We went to play BB guns and then house boat. At the house boat, the interns had their own equipping time. So, the rest of us, P'Pui, P'Ying, P'Gift, Jenny and I just brainstormed for the English Camp in Mae Hong Son. (Please, go to http://www.payapchristianzon.com/ for more pictures.)

English on Tours!! It's a program organized for the judges, lawyers and court officers in Lampang. It is because a couple years ago, a few of our interns had a chance to serve the judges in Chiang Mai by teaching them English. So, they were impressed with our group. This year they invited us again. The purpose is to help them get rid of the fear of speaking English to foreigners. We played games and spent the whole day with them. They took us to a really fancy restaurant for dinner and gave us souvenirs. We had a blast! and we feel so honored.

Home

Good Morning Chiang Mai!!

A New Year card from Payap Christian Zone Church of Christ

on Mt. It is so wonderful to be back home and be with my brothers and sisters in Christ for Christmas. It is summer in NZ so it would be nicer and cooler here in Thailand, specifically Chiang Mai.
Wellington

Before I left Palmy, I wasted about 2 weeks watching movies in my room on campus. Then I went to Wellington with 3 other Thai friends. We wanted to go to the zoo. We found out later that the zoos in Thailand are a lot better. Well, it was a long day 'coz we left Palmy at 11:30 a.m. and came back the next morning at 4:30 a.m. We didn't sleep and we went to many places which I prefer not bother to describe here. Anyway, we had a great time together.

Do not blame the transportation in Thailand. Read this story...

I took a bus from Palmerston North to Tauranga coz i wanted to spend the rest of my time before going home in somewhere nice and with good friends. So, Tauranga is the best choice. On the day i was travelling, I needed to change the bus so I waited for another bus in the area called "Cambridge" in Waikato. I waited, waited and waited...the bus didn't come. I walked around to look for a place that I could sit down and wait for Eddie to come get me at 11 p.m. or midnight but every place closed at 10 p.m. So, I thought I would have to sit in front of the tourist information center or "iSite" by myself. Do u believe in miracles?? After an hour and a half, I was sitting in the public toilet thinking "what if the bus came right now..." I walked back to the iSite and there it was...the Kiwi bus. The bus turned around and stopped at the bus stop. I stepped up and asked the driver whether he was going to Tauranga or not. He said yes, so i ran grab my heavy stuff. I sat down on the bus thinking to myself 'thank God, am I really on the bus or am I dreaming?' The driver said "sorry, we are a little late. Have u been waiting for a long time? It's just one of those day." I thought "why today?"

Tauranga

I hung out with Eddie, Joshua and Annie and their friends from the South Pacific Bible College. Eddie and I spent 2 days shopping for souvenirs. Then we went to Mt. Muanganui. It was so beautiful. It's not a very high mountain and the trials are quite easy to hike. The same evening, after hiking up the mountain, I was there for the SPBC's graduation. After that, I took my stuff from Annie's house to Eddie's because we had to leave at 4 a.m. to Auckland airport. Eddie asked me to stay up all night coz he thought if he slept, it'd be hard for him to get up. So, I did...I had a lot of fun playing on the Internet, especially taking Friends trivia. Eddie finally took a few hours nap. Nick, one of Eddie's friend, went with us to the airport coz he would drive Eddie's car back to Tauranga. I took a nap in the car. It was raining so hard. I thought the flight would be cancelled but it all went well. We flew from Auckland to Sydney.

Sydney-Embarrassment

We were there for more than 12 hours. I read, walked around, watched people, or played Yahtzee. It was tiring and boring. I went to buy some stuff from Duty Free and I accidentally dropped a perfume bottle because the cap didn't fit with the bottle, so I picked it up from the cap...the bottle flew...slowly and landed on floor. Everyone turned and looked at me. I heard a lady said "uhh, smells good" I didn't know what to do. The staff asked me "are u ok? r u ok? Did u get hurt?" I said " I'm ok...i'm really sorry" He said "it's ok...the most important thing is u r ok and didn't get hurt. walk around and have a look at other stuff. Don't worry. I'll take care of this." So, that was another experience I'm thankful for.

Thailand- The land of smile :)

We landed at Suvannabhumi airport at 3:30 a.m. Then we took a taxi to Don Muang airport. this time Eddie had to pay for the overload luggage because it was domestic with a low cost price. It was not too much like mine though. We got to Chiang Mai airport on Dec. 10th. P'Jan picked us up. I was a bit disappointed seeing P'Jan wearing shorts coz I thought the weather would be a bit cold but it turned out that it was really hot.

Forget about the weird weather and the global warming!!

Like every year, Cheung Doi and Payap had a Christmas party at P'Young's house. The new guys, "Birthday Suite" band, did a great job entertaining us. 2 of them are interested in studying the Bible. And we, the Payapians, are going to sleep over at the Reagan's house on the New Year's Eve and have some grilled pork.

Alright, life at home has been incredibly awesome to me. Though nothing much is going on, i just like the way it is. I don't really get on the Internet as much as i did in NZ. I guess...because all i want is here...my family and friends. I mean for those of u who r not in Thailand...I still miss y'all as always. But I'm saying that because I'm now in my comfort zone, I have all my strength here...comparing back in NZ, I often put updates and get online all the time because I need someone to support me emotionally and spiritually. and I really appreciate those who have been in contact with me all the time.

Well, I guess, it's getting too long now. I'll end here...and will c u soon!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!! May the Lord our God bless you richly and keep you safe. May you be filled with love and joy.

In Christ's awesome love,

Tongariro National Park

        Mt. Ruapehu

I am a sheep and the Lord is my Shepherd...

under the waterfall

2 classes of Masters students

I thought I wouldn't put any entries after the fire works one, but I need to share these beautiful pictures of His creations with y'all. I went on a field trip on Monday 5. We went to Tongariro National Park, near Mt. Ruapehu. It is a World Heritage area. There were 9 students from 2 classes with the same lecturer. In the morning, we had to get up at 7 a.m. so that we could have breakfast before rolling on the road. We were so lazy because it was raining and cloudy. The lecturer told us that we might need to change the plan and his plan B was not quite exciting for us. So, on the way, as I was looking on the side of the road...lots of sheep in the green pasture...I prayed and sang in my heart (Nai Tung Ya Khong Pra Jao, I am a sheep, and God of Wonders) and the skies cleared up.Yeay, we went ahead with the first plan which was hiking in the jungle or here they call the 'bush'...lol. We stopped at the waterfall and a few of us even went down (almost under it), but it was too strong and freezing so we just kinda stood there and played for a while. I tried to take pictures from under the waterfall, but that's the best I can do because I had my camera in a Ziploc bag. It was an awesome trip...we had a lot of fun...again it was exhausting after all.

GuyFawkes_Summer Celebration (not really)

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5128475692205863186" style="DISPLAY: block; Nov.5 is Guy Fawkes day...if u want to know what it is, go search on the internet. LOL...well, here at the school, we had a bonfire and fireworks last night (Nov.2). It was fun, of course, not as fun as in Thailand. This month, for Full Moon (Loy Kratong) festival, it is like a World War III in Chiang Mai...on the bank of the main river. ha ha ha! Anyway, I had fun with all the Thai students here. They bought a lot of fireworks. Actually, they celebrate to welcome summer as well, but it is still cold.

Welly: fun time with friends VS the beehive (parliament) trip

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5119624275357064642" style="DISPLAY: block; Last week, they picked me up and we went to see Darby Priest in Wellington. It was a short fun time. We stayed there 2 nights. Me and the boys went to the national museum called "Te papa". It is a cool museum and it's free!! but the parking fee is painful!! We only got to hang out with Darby and her cousin at night because she's now working all day. We also went to the lookout point. It was stormy, we were freezing but we still took some pix. (http://www.payapchristianzone.com/). or go to my facebook. Anyway, I had fun seeing old friends here in a new place. Then I came back and worked on my assignments again :(

This week, i went to Wellington again. It was a school field trip, so about 25 of us from different classes went on the bus together. We went to listen to the talk from the economist of Westpac bank. (don't ask me about it...LOL...I never understand economy even in Thai). Oh! i do understand one thing; NZ is going to be wealthier because of their dairy products export business...poor Thailand. After 1 hr sleepy talk, most of the group followed the lecturers to a Chinese restaurant, but 3 of us, Thais, went on our own way...ha ha ha! Wellington is a pretty cool town for visiting, not sure about for living in a long-term though. After lunch, we went to the parliament. We got to see the Debate Chamber and we sat there for the real "Questions Time" between the politicians. They talked like as we usually see on T.V. arguing, laughing, acting weird...etc. They do have people from media to record every Tuesday-Thursday. I had a hard time listen to their accent but i know one thing that they talked about Iraq war.

On the way back, we stopped at a souvenir shop. Actually, we stopped for a famous ice cream: Kapiti. I had Hokeypokey and white chocolate...hmm...Aroi maak! Should I start changing the way I spell my nickname? I used Aun when i was young but it didn't sound like "Un-derstand". My real name is Anchalee, people can say that pretty good. But when it comes to the way i spell my nick name...I don't want to use "An" coz they will just say "an...like an apple" so that's why I use Un as in "Un-believable" Then, English is such a tricky language, the prefix "un" is ok for unlimited, unpredictable, underwear(LOL, this one is not a use of prefix)...etc But when i use Un as my nickname...it becomes the "oon" (u sound) so I don't know what to use anymore. What do u think? I have to introduce myself this way. with my homework .LOL.Last Saturday, we had a school annual festival called "Sakura Festival". It's actually Cherry Blossom festival. Students from each country presented their own culture; food, exhibition, performance. Thai students, we sold, of course, "Pad Thai", plain Roti with Beef Masmun and Thai tea. Only Pad Thai was gone so fast. I guess people don't know how to eat roti with masmun and the tea was too sweet. Our performance was fantastic! ha ha ha1 i didn't perform though. The boys showed the martial art called "Krabi-Krabong". The girls applied Thai dancing by using both Thai song and English song, so that the audience wouldn't fall asleep. They did a great job, i think though they were not satisfied. After the festival, we walked around the Cherry Blossom area and took lots pix. Many people had to go to town and work, so it was only me and my friend, Tip, also a Masters student. There was a Japanese couple came to ask us to take a pic for them, so we did. We even suggested them the location.LOL Then they took for us. After they left, both of us turned around and felt like "oh...such a sweet couple" and looking back to ourselves that we both don't have a bf yet. ha ha! We had fun anyway coz we found another group of friends, so more pictures before dinner. Actually, it was cold that evening but because in the morning the weather was so different, so I didn't wear a jacket or sweater. My friend, Tip, got a cold though, poor her that I'm a lot smaller but stronger. She's a very tall girl. It's been fun being around her lately. She's very optimistic and funny.

The green pic?: That's the energy drink, it's kinda like Red Bull. I have had 2 cans this week coz next week is the mid-term break for a week. I'm going to see Darby Priest in Wellington with Eddie and Joshua, so I want to do my assignment as much as I can. So far, so bad. I've been going to bed in the morning for a couple days and wake up for lunch time then classes. Well, I usually spend too much time on finding and reading information for my essays. There's either too much or irrelevant. Then the Internet shuts down at 2 a.m. That's when I start working a little bit along with the reading. Buhu :(

Harry Potter Mania

Y'all, I have been taking quizzes like the Sorting Hat quiz and HP character trait quiz. The artist is an American named Ella...sorry I don't know her last name. She travels a lot and she's a really cute, sweet, and cool artist.

I have been here in Palmerston North 5 weeks but it seems longer . The reason is not because I don't like here but i guess I'm stuck on campus too much. I can't help it 'coz I live in a dorm school and just imagine being in a boarding school at the age of 25. Well, it's safe, cheap and convenient here, especially for cooking. Those of you who know me, yeah, I don't cook, so I just eat what the cafeteria makes. I've found myself these days that I just eat for energy. I don't really care what I like to eat or not. Sometimes, I'm too worried about assignments and I don't even know the tastes. I've observed something lately. I know that it's an international school but discrimination is still going on here. At the cafeteria, I can see people sit by nationalities, but there are some people that really enjoy being around those who are from other countries. 2 ways to look at this situation: first, they are trying to practice English, getting to know different culture, or they are just friendly. Second, they are trying to get away from their roots. I usually sit with Asians, I do have some nice Kiwi friends but I prefer sitting by myself and watch people. Maybe the Thais have the same attitude towards me because I don't hang out with them much. I like them but my schedule is totally different from theirs.

I have been to 4 churches since I came here. I still haven't made a decision which one I want to join as a member. I've been so weak spiritually because I only know a few Christians here. Last week, I didn't go to church 'coz the night before I couldn't sleep. Then I slept in the morning. That's how my schedule like....sigh... This week I went to the same one I went the other week. It's a big church with all kinds of media. I like that part but somehow I feel empty when I go there. I really miss Payap Christian Zone, Chiang Mai. I miss the people the most...i guess. People here are nice but it seems to me that they just come to church because they want to socialize. Well, it's true...that's another thing you get when you come to church on Sunday. You get to socialize with people who "at least" believe in God. Back home, we are more like family...we come to church to encourage, to check up with our brothers and sisters. We welcome new friends and invite them to hang out with us after church. Here is more like a duty.

Anyway, back to my point, I also observed myself in this aspect. I think I'm being a hypocrite. In school, I don't really do anything to act as a Christian. I do pray by myself sometimes. Don't ask about reading the Scripture. I have a lot of bad thoughts come in to my mind, but I also know that I need to go to church on Sunday. (It's like a routine which I don't wanna lose it.) Do you get what I'm saying? Though it's just something I'm used to, I know that it's a way of trying to hold on to God. It's been really hard on me living in this setting. I even imagine myself faded away from God and behaved like these people around. It could possibly happen, right? and that scares me to death...like real death apart from His kingdom.

I'm struggling...because people around me remind me of something...and I'm struggling even in my dreams...old and new enemies...

His Creation

In one of my classes called "People and the Environment", basically, we will focus on the human impact on the earth (climate change, green house gas, global warlming etc.). Usually, I could only concentrate in class for 1 and a half hour...then the last 30 mins, I'd just sit there. The class is kind of boring. However, last time, we studied about development, economy, and environment. Well, amzingly, I followed what the lecturer was talking about because I stayed up till 4 a.m. to read the documents he emailed us on the weekend. :) Then we watched the vdo about environmental catastrophe. It made me sad to look at what people had done to other people, and what human had done to the Lord's creation. I saw people with brain damage because of irresponsible companies launched chemicals and trash into the river then people ate fish from that river...whale hunting...thousands of sea bird died painfully because of the oil from the wrecked ship containing a lot of oil. I saw how people solved the problem by dropping bomps into the ship to burn the oil, they thought it wouldn't go to the shore. Then what happened was the black smoke polluted the air and the oil still came on the beach. Several inhabitants were destroyed.

Anyway, sorry, you might get bored of what I wrote above but I just want to share how I felt after class. yeah, imagine how God meticulously created this world each day and created Adam and Eve, but look at how harmful human had done/have been doing to His beautiful creation. I don't know...we always think we are smart but actually we are not. yes, we can produce many useful things but our development brings impacts to the environment on this earth. That's why people in the Bible had lived longer than us because they didn't have environmental issues. Later on, another thought came in, life on this earth is so short, how should I live my life now? I think the problems will never be totally solved.
